What’s new in the world of events from the Powwow team.
With the weather warming, things are starting to hot up at Powwow HQ as we put the final touches to our summer events. To get you in that summer spirit, here’s some of the things we’re looking at right now and the outdoor spots we’re excited to try.
Rooftop Venues - London
We’ve got you covered
Planning an event in the UK which relies on good weather is always daunting. A wet weather contingency is always on the list. For really versatile roof top venues, we love the Century Club for its jungle-esque roof terrace with glazed cover should the rain start. The Rooftop at The Trafalgar St. James has an enviable skyline view of London. Set on the 7th floor, the 180pax space includes a suntrap of a terrace and restaurant with a retractable roof. Other rooftop hotspots with an inside out feel include Sushi Samba Covent Garden and The Hyde Park Sky Terrace at the Pavilion Club in Knightsbridge!
Silverstone Circuit, Towchester, NN12 8TL
A fresh spin on Silverstone
Recognised as the home of British motorsports, Silverstone soon opens its doors to their new concept, Escapade. Located on one of the fastest sections of the British Grand Prix circuit, this is a new addition to their extensive indoor and outdoor events spaces. Escapade is a collection of private residences with panoramic trackside views. Each has its own outdoor roof terrace, and the largest of those holds 150pax. Think cocktails, DJs and sundowners. With a total of 184 ensuite bedrooms across 60 residences, each with access to a swimming pool, sauna and driver-focused gym. Think standalone event space or stunning onsite accommodation after daytime track activities.

Sunshine in a can
Calling all tequila fans! Drinks writer and TV presenter, Neil Ridley, gives Powwow his exclusive on the next big summer drink trends. “It’s all about the tequila! Break through brand Pimentae has a brilliant range which is set to be the next big summer trend” and we tend to believe him! Loving the designs of Pimentae’s ready mix cans. They definitely shout ‘Pick me!’ for a summers day. I’m sure we’ll be packing a few of these into our picnic baskets this year!
Join the Pipe
A refreshing solution
For our outdoor events we have partnered with the brilliant Join the Pipe who supply reusable water bottles made from sugar cane (green PE). We’ve gone for their pre-filled water bottles which we’ve had branded, but do check out their re-fill stations if that matches your needs. With their proceeds Join the Pipe set up drinking water and clean-up projects in developing countries. This gets a big thumbs up from us as we are always looking for ways to increase our events’ social impact.
Picnic friendly catering
Pique this picnic season
Want to break free from the office meeting spaces and use an outdoor space for your next meeting? If you’re struggling to workout how to create a picnic friendly menu, try Karma Cans. This female-led sustainable catering company based in Hackney specialises in providing fresh, healthy and delicious home-cooked food. Delivered (often by bike!) in handy recyclable bowls, they can create an amazing spread for you and your colleagues. And for times when you want to take your picnic up a few notches, we’re loving Pique who prepare everything ready for your arrival, including freshly cooked food, blankets, cushions, cute decorations and even games!

An invite you can’t refuse
We’re all looking out for those event touchpoints that elevate the occasion and make them memorable. Instead of struggling with a giveaway idea to end an event, consider sending a keepsake at the start! Catch everyone’s attention with a beautiful cut paper invite from the amazing Cutture team. Their stunning invites are pieces of art and make a treasured event reminder, bringing a ray of sunshine when they land on your clients’ doorstep.

Dream ice cream
We couldn’t write our sunshine edition without talking about that summer staple – ice cream. The constantly innovating team at Lick Me I'm Delicious have a whole host of ice cream options to surprise your guests. We love their custom ice cream flavours, designed to encapsulate your brand’s identity – no mean feat in an ice cream. Other cooling ideas from the team include the crazy Nitro ice cream truck, Nitro lollipops and alcoholic brain freeze slushies.
San Miguel Terrace Bar, Somerset House, WC2R 1LA
Spanish flare in the heart of London
Our good friend and caterer Jimmy Garcia hasn’t been hibernating this winter. He’s been busy adding to his successful south bank popup Jimmy’s BBQ Club, to work with Somerset House creating an outdoor Tapas Lounge concept on their terrace. Beautifully decorated and kitted out with fantastic food and drink options including mouthwatering tapas, freshly cooked pizzas and a large central bar serving our summer favourite Sangria, amongst other delicious cocktails. The terrace capacity is 300pax, with an option to extend up to 800pax for private events, making it a fantastic space for your next summer party.
Visual Architects
Festival fantastic
Powwow’s creative team are fully immersed in festival design right now. Never far from their mind is creating that ideal Insta moment. From the small details and largest impact installations, we combine bespoke builds with reusable pieces to make our events as sustainable as possible. So, we’re loving some of the amazing creations of Visual Architects with their standout festival arches and treetop canopies!

Amy is excited to rent a GoBoat and explore London by river and canal.
Heather is using her tickets for Taste of London in Regents Park to eat her way around some of the capital’s best restaurants in just one afternoon.
Natalie has her eyes on seats at one of the five shows Regents Park open air theatre are hosting this summer.
Emma has grabbed her tickets for Buckingham Palace's summer opening hoping to see all 775 rooms on this site inspection!
Charlotte is looking forward to diving straight into Tooting Bec’s Lido after its £4m refurbishment.
Zahra is using the sunshine as the best excuse to increase her visits to her favourite gelato shop Venchi. Take her top tip and go for the salted caramel and brownie flavour. She promises you won’t regret it.
Our resident football fanatic Hollie is more than excited to enjoy The Euro Fan Zones in London. We couldn’t resist sharing these brilliant pictures of our passionate Hollie snapped by reporters supporting the Lionesses at Box Park!
We all love our local sun spot, Vinegar Yard near our office in London Bridge. Keep an eye out for us this summer - maybe we will see a few of you there!
