Katie joins the board of advisors at NOWIE

NOWIE announces Board of Advisors

Network of Women In Events has announced its inaugural Board of Advisors.

NOWIE was founded in 2013, adopted a newly constituted committee and team in late 2021 and the Board of Advisors marks the next step in its growth. The Board’s specialisms include Diversity and Inclusion, PR, Organisational Operations, Fundraising, HR and more.

NOWIE Chair Cat Kevern said, “we are thrilled to be working with these industry leaders, whose experience and guidance will help us on a strategic level to achieve our ambitious goals for NOWIE”.

She continued, “our volunteer team is incredible and I’m excited to see how we can tap in to the collective knowledge of the new Board to take us to the next level”.

Katie says, “I'm delighted to be joining the Board of Advisers for NOWIE (The Network of Women in Events). NOWIE was formed in 2013 and exists to support and encourage women working across all sectors of the events industry. NOWIE undertakes various projects that meet at least one of its three main pillars: improving networking opportunities, facilitating job opportunities and increasing representation for women. The NOWIE team have recently been full steam ahead launching their recent projects focussed on mentoring and work experience, and I look forward to supporting their future activity and helping to drive NOWIE forward.”

2023 marks NOWIE’s 10th anniversary and the Board will play a key role in establishing NOWIE’s priorities for its second decade. Cat Kevern added, “as a team, we are never short of ideas but as a volunteer-run non-profit, we welcome all help that can increase our resources and profile to turn these ideas into reality. I have no doubt that the involvement of the Board in NOWIE will see us reaching further than ever before”.
